Our drive to the Ottawa River for a few days of musky fishing took us through some very scenic parts of the country.
Our first stop en route was the small town of St Albert which is made famous by the St Albert Cheese Factory.

Here, we toured the cheeses factory and interviewed some of the key personnel before continuing our drive northeast.
Our next stop was the LaRose Forest where we walked a few of the trails and took photo and video footage of this landmark.
We had done the same in the winter and the colour contrast between the two seasons is incredible even with the majority of trees being evergreen

Late fall is definitely the best time of year to enjoy the LaRose Forest!
Our next stop was along the South Nation River where we had a chance to explore the small, but charming conservation area at Jessop's Falls.
This part of the South Nation River is also a popular destination for multi species anglers and on a future trip we'll make a point of staying long enough to try our luck there.
Our final stop as the sun was setting was the town of L'Orignal on the south shore of the Ottawa River
From this historic town it was only a few miles to our hotel in Alfred.
... and the next morning would bring the beginning of another musky adventure on the Ottawa River with John Anderson of the Ottawa River Musky Factory.

All were caught on in-line spinners.

A moment of impact shot captured on the camera Bill was casting.

This one hit after the boat side figure eight was completed and the bait was still hanging in the water!

We have always done well for muskies on the Ottawa River and will continue to improve our skills through John's leadership.
Now we're looking forward to our next trip through the Prescott Russell region on our way to some of the best musky fishing in the province!
